Event recorder for passenger electrical locomotive RPDA –P
Event recorder for passenger electrical locomotives RPDA-P was designed for real time measuring and recording basic parameters of AC and DC locomotives operation. Parameters are recorded into flash storage called “cartridge”.
Parameters list consists of:
- current time,
- locomotive speed,
- passed distance form the trip beginning,
- cabin traffic light signals,
- pressure values in different points of pneumatic brake system,
- contact-wire voltage,
- currents in traction motor circuits,
- power consumption (for traction and heating – separately) etc.
Event recorder for passenger electrical locomotives RPDA-P features
RPDA-P gives a good opportunity of collecting an objective power consumption data due to high accuracy power consumption measurement. Collected data can be considered separately for traction, for train heating, for different locomotive operation types, for different route sections. Moreover, RPDA-P records current time, loco speed, passed distance, cabin traffic light signals, pressure values in different points of pneumatic brake system, currents in traction motor circuits, as well as protection switches states including rapid break switch and skidding relay. All measured data are referenced to current time and route position.
Some data such as currents in traction motor circuits, cabin traffic light signals and locomotive speed are used by auto-driving system USAVP for calculations. So event recorder RPDA-P is an integrated part of auto-pilot system.
RPDA-P system uses special data storage to record and keep measured data. It is called “cartridge”, the capacity of cartridge is enough to store information of more than 1000 km trip. To decode the information stored on the cartridge is used a special software package – workplace ARM RPDA-P. That software helps to analyze the recorded data and also makes necessary report forms.
The event recorder RPDA-P was designed under the concept of locomotive department automatic control system (ASU-T). Used together with other systems (autopilot, special software for power consumption control etc.) event recorder RPDA-P creates a basis for new computer technology of power consumption and locomotive usage registration and control.
Application effect components
- Obtaining complete and accurate information about the locomotive operation and safety devices work.
- Reducing costs for power consumption registration and also reducing costs for decoding speedometer tapes.
- Improved monitoring of the locomotive drivers’ work and the easy investigation of drivers’ operation errors by help of cartridge stored data.
- Improved accuracy of power consumption recording for different route sections gives a lot of possibilities for analysis of losses in consumption network.
- Analysis of the technical condition of locomotives.
- Monitoring of actions of both locomotive crews and other railway staff involved in the train operation.
